Promotes, supports, and coordinates the promotion of science and information technology in the Special Wereda.

Coordinate Science & IT Council

Coordinates the establishment of a regional science and information technology council and ensures implementation of its operational guidelines.

Identify & Fulfill Special Wereda Needs

Identifies the scientific and technological needs of the Special Wereda and facilitates their fulfillment in consultation with relevant bodies.

Establish Technology Parks

Cooperates with relevant authorities to establish technology parks in the Special Wereda.

Support Research Protocols

Develops ethics and ensures that innovations are supported by research protocols.

Register Domain & Address

Classifies, registers, and controls government domain names and addresses.

Supervise Government Networks

Supervises establishment of modern information communication networks among regional government institutions, including software and systems.

Support IT Training & Licensing

Provides technical training, qualifications, and licensing support in ICT and supervises implementation.

Support Information Flow

Supports coordinated and secure information flow/exchange between government institutions and monitors proper use.
